Renew Their Hope: A foster care initiative

We’re excited to announce four key updates for “Renew Their Hope,” our foster care initiative!  To learn more or ask questions, feel free to email amyh@wellspringchristian.org.

1)  WORK DAYS:  We need your help to complete a few projects at The Cottage, where kids and social workers will be staying overnight while their foster housing is finalized. Click or tap here to view a project punch list, claim a job, and sign up for a time slot next week to complete the task!

2)  WISH LIST / NEEDED DONATIONS:  Visit our Amazon Wishlist (click or tap here) to view and purchase items needed for The Cottage and our supply closet.  You may also purchase wishlist items from different retailers—or Lowe’s gift cards—and drop them off at WellSpring.  In addition to the items on the wishlist, we’re collecting:

-New or gently worn pajamas for ages 3 – 12
-New underwear and panties for ages 3 – teen
-New socks for ages 3 – teen
-Athletic shorts, pants, and leggings in youth sizes
-Books for children and youth

3)  OPEN HOUSE:  We invite you to tour The Cottage anytime from 10am – 12:30pm on Sunday, August 28.  We can’t wait for you to see the progress we’ve made…this is going to be a safe haven for kids entering foster care!

4)  DCS TRAININGS FOR RESIDENT STAFF:  Volunteers age 18+ have the opportunity to serve as residential staff at The Cottage.  In this role, you’ll be spending time with DCS social workers and kids entering the foster care system.  To qualify, you’ll need to complete two DCS trainings; those will be from 6 – 7:30pm on Monday, Aug. 15 and Wednesday, Aug. 17.  You must sign up in advance for this training; click or tap here to register.
